Sams Teach Yourself iPad Application Development in 24 Hours
User Reviews
This is an excellent teach yourself book with step by step directions.
This book covers a lot of ground.
Excellent for the programmer who is new to Apple development.
I would also recommend a book on objective-c, but it's not really required.
If anyone is having trouble finding the sample code, the url is on page 3. -- Great for beginners
This book is a MUST HAVE, for novice iPad developers. I've searched numerous forums for Video play and swapping views on orientation without adequate results. Both topics were covered in this book with step by step instructions, just on that this book is worth the purchase. The book also had MANY other topics that will help. -- Novice Programmer
I bought the Kindle version. The url to download the project files is a dead link. -- no project files
Adding this as a comment made on my post pointed out where I could download the files. I was and still am unable to find the link in the book so I will post it here for reference, [...]
Now that I have the project files I update the star rating as this is a very good book.
I purchased the Kindle version of this book and was really happy with the contents and the direction is was going to take me in. Being able to have the iPad next to me and easily flipping through the pages is much easier than fumbling around with the book.
In the first chapter the book refers to content files for the demo applications you will be developing. I went to the publishers web site as some of their books have the content as a download, this book did not. I contacted the company via email, received no reply then today I saw that they had added this line to the head of the book description.
"This is the eBook version of the printed book. If the print book includes a CD-ROM, this content is not included within the eBook version." -- Only added note about CDROM content not being supplied after I bought it and asked them where I could download it
