User Reviews

This is simple and compact charger with a just long enough curly cord. I don't like curly cords. -- Simple
I have yet to get the item after all these weeks so a negative review is what it will have until I get it! -- Haven't received!!
Love the car charger. It is a great addition to my accessories. Thanks for the quick shipment. -- Car Charger for iPad
The charger comes on and lights up when it is plugged in but it doesn't charge my ipad. I've tried it in several cars and get the same result. -- Doesn't work
I don't own one of these. I'm responding to others' reviews. The iPad is big, more like a laptop than a phone. It has a big screen and takes lots of energy. All these little chargers will deliver up to 1amp of current at 5vdc (the standard USB voltage). That's 5 watts. The iPad charger from Apple is 10 watts, and that's what it takes to charge the iPad - fast.

Conduct an experiment. Plug your iPad into the USB port on your computer. Note it says "not charging." But wait. Note the battery level. Turn the iPad off. (Leave the computer on.) Go away. Wait. Come back. Turn it on. Note the battery level. If you waited long enough, you should see a higher battery level. That's because while you were away and it was off, the iPad was "trickle charging." Mine recharges completely overnight attached to my PC. I've yet to plug in the AC adapter.

It will be the same with all these cheap car chargers. Yes, they will charge your iPad. Slowly. Yes, the iPad will say "not charging" when it's on. Probably isn't - all the juice is going to running its screen. But turn it off and set it on the seat next to you and drive around town, and voila! It's charged up some.

Are these guys still jerks for saying they have an iPad charger? Yeah. But they're not lying, strictly. They will charge it when it's off. And come on, folks - we have SOME responsibility to understand all these gadgets, don't we? Just a little? -- It is what it is.
